3rd annual CIHA Blog Conference

December 11, 2017 - December 16, 2017

This year’s CIHA Blog conference focuses on ‘Religion, Health, Healing and Gender in Humanitarianism in Africa’. It will be hosted by the Gaston Berger University’s Laboratoire d’Analyse des Sociétés et Pouvoirs/Afrique-Diasporas (LASPAD), and will take place in Dakar and St. Louis, with excursions to other sites in Senegal.

The purpose of the conference is to bring together scholars, religious leaders, and humanitarian practitioners to assess systems and practices of healing and health, both material and spiritual, in religion, gender and humanitarianism on the continent. We seek to provide directions for policy, scholarship, religious and NGO leadership on these interconnected issues.  The conference is sponsored by The Critical Investigations into Humanitarianism in Africa (CIHA) blog (www.cihablog.com) and funded by a grant from the Henry Luce Foundation’s Program on Religion and International Affairs.
