Nonviolent Peaceforce Child Protection Advisor – South Sudan
Nonviolent Peaceforce (NP) is an international, non-governmental organization which works to reduce violence and protect civilians in situations of violent conflict and its aftermath, mostly through the deployment on the ground of multinational teams of civilians. In South Sudan, NP has 11 field teams providing thematically focused protection programming in child protection, gender based violence protection and prevention, displacement (IDPs, refugees and returnees, inter-communal violence reduction and conflict early warning/early response). This young country programme is growing rapidly responding to the dynamic, high needs environment in South Sudan.
We are looking for an experienced, dynamic and energetic Child Protection Technical Advisor to support the implementation of Nonviolent Peaceforce’s child programming in the new nation of South Sudan. You will be someone who draws their motivation from a genuine commitment to civilian protection and violence reduction programming and can draw on that motivation to manage a challenging child protection programme in a complex, difficult operational and security environment. You are a highly creative problem solver, who will tenaciously find solutions. You are able to build positive relationships with a wide range of actors; you motivate, inspire and nurture the development of your teams. You are someone who takes pride in your work and being part of something bigger than yourself. The Nonviolent Peaceforce programme in South Sudan is young and growing – you are someone who wants to contribute to building something.
