Sayed Hassan Akhlaq
Dr. Sayed Hassan Akhlaq was born in Afghanistan. He earned a PhD in Philosophy in 2009 from Allameh Tabatabaii University in Tehran, Iran. Also, he completed his Islamic theological Studies (Hawzeh Elmieh) in Mashhad. He worked as the chancellor of Gharjistan University, branch of Farah-Afghanistan in 2011. He was an academic advisor of Afghanistan Academy of Sciences in 2010. He taught in Iranian universities, including Al-Mustafa International University and Payam-e Noor, 2007-2010. He has published four books on comparative Philosophy in Iran and Afghanistan.
After being involved in research and academic activities with the George Washington University, the Catholic University of America, and George Mason University in Washington DC area for last five years, he will join the Boston University for the 2017-2018 academic year. In addition, he gives scholarly lectures all over the States for Muslim, Farsi/Dari, and Religious Communities. He is a member of American Academy of Religion. And currently he works as an advisor for the Center for Study of Islam and the Middle East in Afghanistan Affairs.
John P. Hogan
John P. Hogan is a Fellow at the McLean Center for the Study of Culture and Values at Catholic University. He has worked with the Peace Corps and Catholic Relief Services in Africa, South America, and Haiti. He has taught at the Catholic University of America, Loyola College, and SAIS, Johns Hopkins University. He lives in Washington, DC.
