Publication Fellowship Opportunity with ASA and ASECS

  • Call for Papers & Proposals
  • Atlanta, GA
Dear Colleagues,
I hope that this finds you all well. We are reaching out to spread the word about an open application to participate in a conference and publication opportunity.
The African Studies Association (ASA) is hosting a joint publication fellowship with the American Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies (ASECS) next year. In 2025, the two Associations will be offering joint conference and publication opportunities to which students and recent graduates (within 5-years of graduation) can submit paper proposals. Applicants are invited to submit paper proposals related to Africa its Diasporas in the 18th Century. Selected participants will attend the ASECS conference virtually to present their paper and receive feedback from a designated mentor. Participants will then revise the paper and workshop the revisions at the ASA Annual Meeting Publishing Workshop in Atlanta, Georgia. The fellows will have a final opportunity to present at the ASA Annual Meeting and should plan to revise their paper for publication review in 2026.

Thank you all in advance for sharing this opportunity with your students and colleagues.
Best Wishes,
Reed Couvillon
