From the Institute of African Studies (IAS) at the University of Ghana: We would like to extend a warm invitation to attend a Pan-African Conversation on 14 September 2023. The Institute of African Studies and the African Studies Association of Africa will be hosting this event, and the theme of the conversation is “Revitalizing Pan-Africanism in the 21st Century.”
The theme is especially relevant today as Africa and its Diaspora face challenges such as political, economic, and cultural sovereignty, gender inequality, environmental impacts of climate change, youth unemployment, and the need for continental unity. The conference will take place in Ghana, a country with a rich history and a significant role in the Pan-African movement. Our goal is to inspire and engage participants in dialogues that promote unity and progress for African nations and their diasporas worldwide.
The conference programme is designed to encompass insightful dialogues, cultural exhibitions, and focused workshops that delve into the length and breadth of Pan-Africanism today. It also offers opportunities for networking with like-minded individuals, academics, activists, and students who are equally invested in Pan-African ideals.
