As part of its regular Thursday Seminars, The University of Ghana – Legon’s Institute of African Studies will be hosting Mr. Emma Sowatey tomorrow, Oct. 19th to present: “Huhuhu nyɛ me hu and National Security: Turning Rumour into Nuggets of Intelligence.” Join in person or via Skype. In Nairobi, Hekima Institute of Peace Studies and International Relations (HIPSIR) Hekima University College is organizing and hosting a one day Students-Led Conference also tomorrow, (October 19, 2017) on the theme: Evolution of Democracy in Africa. Learn more here.

From Oct. 19 – 20th, CODESRIA/UNOWAS will host an International Policy Dialogue Conference on “Money, Security and Democratic Governance in Africa” in Bamako, Mali. This conference forms part of CODESRIA’s ongoing engagement with the issues of security and governance in Africa. Learn more here.

The Institute for Justice and Reconciliation in South Africa will be hosting a public screening next week (Oct. 25) of the film “Winnie” to unpack and bring to light the forgotten black ‘herstory/herstories’ of Winnie and the important and crucial role she played in the fight against apartheid.
